Move Over, My Pretty, Ugly Is Here.

I liked this article because it was about the good side of ugliness and how ugly people is pushing away the beauty stereotypes.

In the article that I read said that ugliness always has been related with the bad and scary things like horror movies like Freddy Krueger, and also with the antagonist of some stories like the Harry Potter’s arch-enemy, Lord Voldemort and so on. But ugliness has changed its theme from bad and scary things to sweety and common things like those characters that represent life just like it is, like Ugly Betty who is an ugly woman that succeeded working in a company in which all the antagonists are beauty but mean women. And like the example of Ugly Betty we also have Shrek, “who is ugly and green but in a cute way”. The idea of this is to change the beauty stereotype to something more normal, like common people who are not sometimes as good looking as models.

new words:
Awkward: lacking ease or grace (as of movement or expression) .
Plainness: lacking beauty or ugliness

Persona-Poem

Danielita…
Small, cheerful, funny, and smart
The daughter of her parents
Who loves camping, fresh air, and share with her friends
Who is afraid of the monsters under her bed, the little bees, and her hair in the morning
Who wants to see, the Big Ben, her back, and her future
Resident of nobody knows, but only her
...Roco

TV and our children, where is the limit?

My next essay will be about TV and our children, Where is the limit?
I found some pages on internet that say that “TV Is Making Our Kids Fat” also, “3-year-olds who watch more than two hours of TV each day are three times more likely to be overweight than children who watch fewer than two hours and so on”
For all these reasons I chose this topic to create awareness about the problems that we can cause to our kids if we don’t put a limit in the quantity of time that they watch TV.

Interview by Anggie to her mother

The interview that I like the most was the one that Anggie did to her mother.
Anggie’s mother seems to be so fun because it looks like she is full of interesting stories, about her job as a nurse. For example, the story when she told about the guy that she helped and days later he was found dead.
I think this interview is the best because Anggie interviewed her mother and she said at the end that she enjoyed it and also learnt some new things about her

Recycling should be compulsory in Chile

There is too much pollution in our country, nobody cares if they live between rubbish or not.

It is awful to see children playing in the dirty parks, instead of seeing them enjoying a clean place.

For that reason I chose this topic to write my essay, I think this is a very serious problem in our country, something that is common for us.

I can’t believe how we can live surrounded by garbage. We must do something about it!
